Project Detail

Private Residence
Mount Lawley Residence

The project revolved around retaining and restoring an original 1917 house and providing an extension at the rear which does not “copy” the architecture of existing.

While the original house was to be maintained and enhanced, the addition was designed to introduce a contemporary flavour which would compliment the old whilst making reference to the original architecture.

From inception of the concept design of the building, the role of the lighting was critical so application support from Mondoluce was obtained in the early stages of the project to ensure that lighting ideas not only achieved the desired moods for the space, but that it would elevate the quality of areas throughout.

The architectural features for the new modern addition had to be emphasized by the lighting design in a manner that was both visually pleasing and provided a feeling of warmth and comfort in the residence’s many interesting places which included outdoor dining, gazebo and pool areas.
